1. Greenery
I start with the tallest piece on my table making it the focal point.
This large vase must have some texture, color, or style that will complement the overall aesthetics of the room. The vase could be placed as a single piece or filled with fresh or dried flowers for a pop of color.
2. Utilize the Corners
- If we have a large square coffee table (48” +), use the corners for additional decor items. We want to make sure our coffee table looks great from every angle.
3. Triangular Grouping
- Arranging three items in a triangular formation will be ideal If we have a round table. For example, place a tall vase at one point, a medium-sized sculpture on another, and a small bowl at the third.
4. - Books: Stack some coffee table books with interesting covers. Choose different sizes for visual interest. The books can be also open if you have the room for it and would like to fill more the space
5. Functional Items
- Trays: Incorporate a decorative tray to group smaller items like candles or remote controls.
- Coasters: Use stylish coasters to protect the surface.
6. Candles
- Vary Heights: Use candles of different heights in decorative holders for ambiance. Tapers over books are great for height, or candles on trays if you want to keep them low.
7. Personal Touches
- Photos: Include framed photos in a stylish way, perhaps in a cluster.
- Travel Mementos: Display items from your travels, like a small globe or unique artifacts.
8. Balance and Symmetry
- Arrange Symmetrically: For a more formal look, arrange items in pairs.
- Asymmetrical Layout: For a casual vibe, mix heights and shapes.
9. Keep It Functional
- Ensure there’s enough space for drinks and snacks. Avoid overcrowding the table to maintain its functionality.
10. Seasonal Decor
- Change It Up: Rotate decorations with the season. Pumpkins and earthy tones in fall, ornaments and metallics in winter, flowers and bright colors in spring and summer.
Experiment with different combinations and arrangements until you find what feels right for your space!
